Kalpataru Jagaran Sangha is a spiritual organisation dedicated to the service of addressing the root cause of human sufferings, which are essentially of three categories, namely:
- Physical Distress – owing to various physical pain, illness, handicaps etc.
- Mental Distress – caused by sorrow, grief, mental agony, superstitions and dearth of a proper liberal environment that helps proper nourishment of mental faculties.
- Spiritual Distress – when the mind is tormented by the thirst for Truth via the questions – What is Truth? What is the purpose of life? Who am I? what is my purpose of existence?
It’s the sole aim of this organisation to alleviate the sufferings caused by these above-mentioned distresses. No one desires a physically weak or sick body. However it’s quite rare to come across a person who is really free of any of these physical distresses. Hence, our Sangha attempts to address this physical distress via Vadu, a gift from the Divine Will of our Guru Madhab Nilanjan, mentioned separately in our website.
Just as the physical distress is a major impediment for a meaningful pursuit of human life, so is the Mental Distress. More than the familiar causes of mental agony like sorrow, grief, bereavement, various social and religious superstitions and absence of a proper liberal environment conducive to a healthy mind causes our latent humane qualities to be further enshrouded in darkness. This takes mankind further away from the Truth within and makes it more selfish, jealous and drowned in material attachments. Undoubtedly, character is the foundation of any society. With a view to inculcate the character of Humanity, the Sangha conducts spiritual discussion sessions regularly to lead all participants into introspection and thoughtfulness. Everyone here is encouraged to participate, ask questions and thereby receive the proper guidance and conduct their lives in an orderly fashion in the light of the Divine guidance of Sree Guru.
While not as commonly prevalent as the physical and mental distress, spiritual distress is more agonizing and is commonly manifested in most of our lives as an absence of peace and harmony. The more we endeavour to fulfill our fast paced modern lives with more material possessions seeking happiness, the further we are driven away from our parallel quest of peace and harmony in life. The anxieties, resulting from the constant pursuit of material happiness drive out the rhythm and harmony from our lives thereby turning us into disconnected entities of self-centred existence burdened by frequent bitter experiences. To save our lives from this agony, the Sangha is wholeheartedly dedicated under the Divine Will of Sree Guru to awaken our latent Humanity and thus transform our lives to its full potential. In this regard, it’s essential to take part in those discussion sessions mentioned above.
Kalpataru Jagaran Sangha was established by Sree Nilanjan under the Divine Guidance and Will of His Guru Sri Madhab in 1995. This Sangha has since walked the path as described above as a refuge to the distressed humankind and the spiritually thirsty with Sree Nilanjan and Holy Mother Bithika as the guiding Light and Vital Force. The key message of Sree Guru and thereby the Mission of the Sangha is to demonstrate to the world at large that Spiritual Progress is possible for a house-holder leading ordinary family life without any scriptural knowledge or ascetic training, just by earnestly following the Divine guidance of the Truth Absolute, manifested in Sree Guru.
The Sangha has a city centre located at 3A Nayapatti Road, Shyamnagar near Dum dum, Kolkata. However the main Ashram complex is situated at Badu, near Madhyamgram, on the outskirts of the city of Kolkata. The Badu complex is considered the Shakti-Kendra (Seat of Guru’s Divine Power). At the centre of it, we have the “Madhab Niloy”, literally, “The Abode of Madhab”. Here Madhab means Guru or the Truth Ultimate. This is essentially a meditation hall, unique in its architecture – depicting the basic spiritual constituents of the human body [like the gross, the subtle and the causal bodies] and presents an unique integration of the architecture of all major faiths signifying universality of true religion, which is the religion of Humanity. Apart from Madhab Niloy, the Badu complex also hosts a few residential apartments for the devotees of the Sangha and a free school, named “Kalpataru Shiksha Shibir”, (started in 2016) set up with Sri Madhab Nilanjan’s Vision of imparting an education with a primary objective to build the character of a child inculcating the true traits of humaneness right from the inception, apart from standard education.
Kalpataru Jagaran Sangha is not meant to preach any new faith or religion. Our motto is to extract and highlight the essence of the Truth, inherent in each Faith that Humanity is the True Religion of mankind. The essence of all religions is to reach the Divinity Within the human body. This objective is impartial and universal without any bias to any sect or caste or creed or race. As Sri Guru proclaimed – the primary objective of Kalpataru Jagaran Sangha is to kindle this awareness and facilitate the process of awakening of humanity by focusing on balance, order and discipline in one’s life (Kram and Acharanshilta) to attain the character of humanity within every human being.
